Biography

Silverton Community Care has such a fantastic team. Dr. Novak brings so much knowledge and experience to S.C.C. She is down to earth, honest, trustworthy, fun, and has a delightful personality.

Dr. Kirsten L. Novak chose to pursue primary care because she believes that the opportunity to build positive relationships with patients and their families enhances their medical care. She is enthusiastic about joining Silverton Community Care as medical director because of their commitment to quality of care, personalized experience of care, and excellence in communication and collaborative care to enhance patient experience.

Kirsten describes her practice style as focusing on active listening and uses lifestyle and nutritional changes, complementary and integrative medicine, fused with traditional evidence-based care to help patients achieve their health goals.

Kirsten graduated from Stanford University where she decided to pursue a medical career for its personal interaction, after first exploring interests in computer engineering and artificial intelligence. She completed her medical studies at the University of Utah where she graduated first in her class and was awarded the prestigious Wintrobe prize.

Kirsten has previously practiced at the Veterans Hospital, the One Medical Group in the San Francisco Bay area, and at Intermountain Healthcare where she treated complex chronic medical issues and developed a focus on stress management, hypertension, cardiac risk reduction, prediabetes and diabetes management, lipid disorders, and the immune system. She is an avid skier, serves as a National judge for the United States Figure Skating Association, and enjoys the outdoors that the Salt Lake Valley and Park City have to offer.
