Biography
Silverton Community Care He is funny, full of knowledge, he’s genuine, and cares so much about his patients and his team. We’re extremely lucky to have Dr. Mark Martinez on ours.
Dr. Mark Martinez is a native of West Jordan, Utah. He attended the University of Utah where he obtained bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He completed his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine and went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Birmingham Alabama.
He returned to the University of Utah for a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care and spent five years on faculty as an Assistant Professor, working as a physician-scientist and medical educator.
Dr. Martinez then went into private practice as an intensive care doctor at St. Mark’s and Promise Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals. He is the respiratory director at several skilled nursing facilities and hospitals and continues to work as an intensive care physician at several hospitals across the valley.
As his career progressed, Dr. Martinez has taken an interest in caring for complex medical patients in the post-acute care setting. His goal is to not only help his patients avoid critical illness and hospitalizations but to learn to live, and even thrive, with their ongoing medical issues.
Dr. Martinez is our respiratory medical director here at Silverton Community Care. He works closely with the medical director, the nurse practitioners, and the team to provide comprehensive care to patients at home in order to help maintain their independence and dignity.
